Students enjoyed starting their day at their learning tables. Representing 7 with manipulatives, representing numbers 2-10 pictorially, recognizing numerals and first letter sounds and writing in journals was a great way to wake us up.
Today students acknowledged 100 days of learning. We worked on representing and describing the number 10. We used 10 frames, fingers and counters to represent the number 10. Students created a 100 day crown with their main focus being representing the number 10 (10 groups of 10 is 100). Students counted and stuck groups of 10 stickers on their crown. They worked to count carefully to be sure each part of their crown had only 10 stickers. We shared our learning by counting to ten 10 times and then counting by 10s as a challenge. Wow, these crowns are incredible.
We enjoyed looking at pictures that aged us to 100 (except for Mrs. Johnston because she is trying very hard not to look 100-haha). Take a look at these:
