Snowy Day Labels

Our Rock Star was Carlos.
Carlos shared his Canadian and Chinese background. It was so exciting to hear about Carlos' family tradition
of celebrating Chinese New Year with red money envelopes and firecrackers. We were excited to learn about Carlos' family. They speak English and Mandarin at home with mom, dad, brother and grandparents. Carlos was named after a soccer star. His grandpa calls him 'sun'. Wow, great family, Carlos.
Students enjoyed working at their learning tables this morning.

We reviewed letters and sounds today through a drawing and labeling winter clothing activity. Students drew a winter outfit on the chart paper and we labeled the winter clothing using beginning sounds. Students were asked to draw themselves in winter wearing winter clothing. They were encouraged to label their picture with beginning letter sounds or environmental print.
