Being Brave

Today kindergarten participated in their first Terry Fox Run at New Brighton School. We spoke about who Terry Fox was. He was a hero who was very brave and ran across Canada to raise awareness and money for people who were sick, and for cancer. Where did Terry Fox run? He ran across Canada. What happened to Terry Fox? He passed away and his memory lives on. When did he run for cancer research? He began his run in 1980. Students watched a brief video https://youtu.be/TDC_BKGc_64. We shared about what we saw in the video, how that made us feel and shared how we can show bravery in our lives.

We run for hope.
Students in kindergarten wore pinnies and shared in our New Brighton assembly. We then participated in our Terry Fox Run around the pond. Students wore a Terry Fox sticker that shared they were running for hope. Way to go, Kindergarten.

Students enjoyed their learning tables today before snack and center time.

We ended the day by speaking about bravery and the Terry Fox Run. We read a story about a brave little fish who got lost and had to be brave as he searched for his friends.
