Mrs. Johnston's Kindergarten: Save the Date

Mr. Stockton Story Telling Evening is up and coming.

All kindergarten students will take part in the evening of telling their story about a classroom pet. Times are yet to be solidified (however, they will be evening performances). The dates are:

Wednesday March 13, 2019: AM Kindergarten story telling night

Thursday March 14, 2019: PM Kindergarten story telling night

We welcome back our Kindergarten students to a week of fun filled learning. Our day began with a community circle to share our weekend news, feelings and ideas. Students are working with learning tubs. We have iPads, building homes for animals and pets through the identification of an animals needs. Students are playing dice games to practice number identification, counting, playing collaboratively and taking turns. Students are creating patterns and making words with letter stickers at our fine motor table.

Today we talked about what kinds of animals we love. We imagined how crazy and silly it would be to have an unlikely pet in our classroom. Students drew this crazy experience they imagined and shared their ideas using letters, words and sentences. This pre-writing is so exciting as students listen for dominant sounds in words and begin to write their ideas.
