Happy Monday

Our new tub time offered your child an opportunity to subitize (recognize at a glance) and name familiar arrangements of 1 to 5 objects or dots. Reading a dice and placing eyes on a monster or adding appropriate numbers of blocks to an arrangement of dots was a hands on opportunity to demonstrate learning. As we begin to explore ways people contribute to a community, students worked with puzzles to create different people we see in and around our community. To practice writing numbers and counting in sequence students did some tracing activities with markers.

This week we are working on the letter Ii. Learning the sound it makes and items, objects or names that begin with that letter. We practiced our song about 'Inky the Mouse' to familiarize ourself with our new letter. Students practiced printing the letter Ii and drawing appropriate pictures.

Students were excited to explore our new centers. Everyone will have chance to play at each new center this week. We have a lemonade stand, block station and baby center. What a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, respect others, take turns and have fun!
