Thrilling Thursday

Our Rock Star was Ivy.
Ivy loved sharing her book, Hugs. She loves hugs and so this book is the perfect book for her. Her favourite part was when the boy hugged the skunk, a stinky hug indeed. Ivy loved sharing the animals that were next for the hug. Thanks, Rock Star Ivy.
Today students finished their last learning table.

Students enjoyed circus centers in gym, snack and center time in class.

Today students worked on their problem solving skills. We reviewed the words longer/shorter and used them in a sentence. We had a Power Point Presentation about longer and shorter. We built some snakes, one was short and one was long. After sharing a sentence about our snakes using longer/shorter statements, we had to help them find a tunnel to stay warm in this cold weather. One of our snakes would be built to fit inside the cozy tunnel, and the other one unfortunately would not fit. Maybe the one who didn't fit was too long, or too short. (Not to worry, all of the snakes will find a warm tunnel, there are lots out there-phew). Kindergarten recorded their findings in their visual journal by writing numerals, drawing their snap cube snakes and writing longer or shorter. They explained their findings. Amazing problem solving, kindergarten.

REMINDERS:

  • tomorrow is PM kindergarten (AM kinders can stay home all cozy and warm)
  • please send a shoe box for an upcoming project
