Happy Beach Day

Kindergarten enjoyed laying by the beach under and umbrella and playing in the sand. What fun to bring some pizazz to our gloomy day out there. Students enjoyed talking about what types of items and objects we find in a beach area. We brainstormed how to be active at the beach and in warm weather and how to do so safely with sunscreen and water.

The Grade 2 students did a wonderful job of the water talk and shared so much information with the Kindergarten students. We walked through displays and looked at posters and listened to information.

Engaging in learning tables was fun and exciting today. Students explored and sorted 3D objects. They built with 3D blocks and created homes for animals and environments for bugs.

Students created a beach scene and talked about the shapes we can use to create items on a beach:
  • star makes a starfish
  • the sun is a circle
  • an umbrella looks like half a circle
  • a sand castle has a triangle flag
  • buckets filled with sand make a cylinder shape for a sandcastle
  • a beach towel is a rectangle

Celebration of Learning

Thank you so much to our Kindergarten students for putting in amazing effort into their Celebration of Learning. It was wonderful to share all of their hard work, thank you parents and special guests for joining us.
