Today AM and PM students continued with their learning tables. We did a writing activity where students said the word and wrote the letter they heard. Connecting letters with sounds is important as we continue with our writing process. We continued work with First, Next and Last. We did actions and talked about what we do in the morning, how we brush our teeth and how we get ready to go home. Next Kindergarten completed a First, Next and Last writing activity for making a jam sandwich. Students are encouraged to incorporate their sight words into writing and use environmental text (such as labels on items in pictures and words around the classroom.

PM enjoyed working on their squished paint butterfly. AM and PM also enjoyed a fresh air break.

Jordyn shared her amazing underwater creation. She loves under the sea and thinks it is beautiful so she decided to create her very own model. She used a ziploc bag box and painted it. Using brown sugar, she created the illusion of sand. Jordyn used toys she doesn't really play with and taped them into the box. Her mom helped her to hang a dolphin so it looks like it is swimming. She accompanied her presentation with a fabulous drawing and wonderful writing. Students were very excited with her model and had many questions about the building process and offered up lots of compliments. Way to go, Builder Jordyn.

Nathan used his Lego building skills to create an animal home. He loves Lego and has lots of it. Nathan knows that animals are important and he imagined a place that they could sleep in. He created an incredible home that any animal would love. Students were very impressed with the floors and liked the fences. There were many questions about the building process and how all of the pieces held together so well. Thankfully he didn't have to put his structure to the test by carrying it to school; his mom sent a photo so we could see it all in one piece. Nathan told us how he built and chose his animals. It took 5 hours to build and he didn't need any help. Way to go, Builder Nathan.

We need your help.
