This Is Not a Stick

Imaginations continue to flourish in Kindergarten. Monday and Tuesday were filled with excitement and creativity as students designed their own dream playground. After enjoying the delight of imagining water slides, hundred foot slides, bouncy castles and never ending monkey bars, students used a checklist to see what would be more realistic. Students used a criteria checklist to decide how to make a suitable playground for New Brighton School. They asked themselves, is this safe? is this fun? and is this great for everyone (access to all children)? Using a first, next and last approach, students will plan and design a component of the New Brighton playground. Using recycled materials, students will design and build their component. They will share their finished written work and plan at the Kindergarten Celebration of Learning.

Today, students listened to the story of, This Is Not a Stick. Students used their imaginations to imagine anything this stick could be. Students glued in their stick and away they went with imagination and creativity. They accompanied their picture with writing.

Students engaged in an interactive craft for an upcoming special event. Thank you parent volunteers.

This Friday, AM kindergarten is invited to participate in PJ/Stuffy day. Wear your favourite, school suitable, PJs (that allow for movement and outdoor play) to school. Bring in your favourite stuffy that fits in your backpack (if it's bigger than your child it should probably remain at home-thanks in advance).
