Magnificent Monday

Tomorrow AM Kindergarten has a field trip to Telus Spark Science Center! Please remember there is NO school for PM students.

Packing List for the Field Trip
  • backpack with extra clothes
  • water bottle
  • snack
  • lunch
Students will leave the school on the bus at 9am and return to the school at approximately 2:15/2:30pm in time for regular school dismissal.

Today students enjoyed a community circle to share any news, stories or ideas. They had gym class with Ms. Nanavaty.

Today, students brainstormed all of the things our class pet Goldy needs to survive. After discussing ideas and creating a list of words and pictures, students generated their own list in their visual journals.
AM Students create a list of Goldy's needs.

After snack and centers students prepared for the field trip with a slideshow about safety, expectations and a rundown of events.

Combining subitzing, counting and comparing, students played a math game. Students used a dice to count spaces around a game board. Each space is marked with a number which indicates the number of blocks to collect. Students continue to build a tower of blocks until they get to the finish line. At the end, the student with the most blocks wins. Students compare who has more and who has less.

TOP BANANA

Today Paige shared with us how she created her very own gymnastic arm bands. She saw them on tv and decided she wanted to have some. She imagined in her mind what they would look like and she used a special tool to weave her very own set of gymnastic arm bands. Paige can see herself making a whole bunch and opening her own store to sell them. How creative to build out of yarn. Her classmates were very impressed! Way to go, Builder Paige.

Farnood shared his Lego creation of a robot. He imagined a robot that could talk but doesn't need food. He built it at home using his Lego and imagination. He sent a photo so we could share his creation on the smart board with his classmates. Farnood's classmates loved his robot and thought his ideas were very good. Way to go, Builder Farnood.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FRIEND, MASON
