I Wonder Wednesday

AM had a very busy morning. After learning tubs we went to music, had a visit with Mr. Stockton and then had gym. We managed to fit in our letter sounds and songs, our Puppy poem and snack.

AM and PM students wonder what it would be like to have some different animals as a classroom pet. What would be a crazy pet for our classroom? We made a list of crazy animals with Mr. Stockton.
Story Creation with Mr. Stockton

These ideas guided some class story time about all the crazy things that might happen if these were our pets:
  • skunk: it made the pages of our books in story corner smelly (AM)
  • porcupine: the quills stuck in the barbie heads and wrecked our paintings (AM)
  • coyote: it howled during quiet story time and made a mess of papers (PM
  • bear: it climbed the smartboard and ate our snacks (PM)

Before heading home, we read a book and shared all the fun things that might happen with different animals as pets.

Valentine's Day for AM and PM Kindergarten Students:

Kindergarten students will have the option of delivering valentine cards to their classmates on Tuesday, February 12th .

Prior to this date, all students will participate in making a personalized mail bag to collect Valentines cards.

Please note, making or purchasing valentine cards is an optional activity.  If you choose to send your child to school with Valentine cards, please ensure they have a card for each student in the class. As per New Brighton guidelines, no candy or food items of any kind are to be distributed at school.

                     Mrs. Johnston AM:  19 students
                     Mrs. Johnston PM:  21 students

To make for easy delivery of cards, please ensure that cards are addressed, To My Friend, rather than using names.

To: My Friend
From: _____ (your child’s name)

Kind regards,
Mrs . Johnston

PM FAMILIES: Brrrr....it's cold out there. With the extreme weather, please remember to supervise your children at drop off for 12:15pm. On -20 or colder days, doors are monitored and opened from 12:10-12:15.
