Happy Birthday to our PM friend, Blaire.
Welcome back to a frosty Monday. There is a cold week ahead of us; if you're not able to safely get your child to school, check out the blog for our school activities.
This week offers students new learning tubs to start their day. This week we continue with iPads; a real hit with literacy and numeracy activities. At our writing station, students are working to make connections among sounds, letters, words, pictures and meaning. They are printing dominant letter sounds for pet names. Then they are challenged to print pet names and use their knowledge of letter sounds. Though a cut and glue activity, students relate numerals to respective quantities and represent numbers concretely and pictorially. Students are beginning to compare two objects based on mass (weight) using scales. Exploring the mass of pets and animals is an exciting opportunity.
Perfect day for the letter Pp. Students brainstormed endless Pp words. Great work, kinders.
