Terrific Tuesday

Rebecca, Owen, Celtie and Piper are using their fine motor skills to colour types of homes inside the lines. 

Ryker, Wyatt, Solveig, Ante and Taylor complete their colouring working to use real life colours and fill in all white spaces.

Today we talked about what things our houses have inside them and what function they offer us. Students participated in a sharing circle to talk about what rooms are in the house and what items are in the rooms:

• a bedroom has a bed (Divya) and drawers for clothes (Cash) and toys (Liam)
• a kitchen has food (Blaire) and a fridge (Thomas) with a table (Lauren)
• a bathroom has a toilet (Rylie) with a sink (Hadi) and a bath (Skylar)

Students had the opportunity to draw their ideas on a large piece of paper. They were encouraged to use detail in their drawings.

At the sorting table, students work on team work and communication to sort healthy food and unhealthy food into bins. After sorting, students are drawing their own healthy food on white boards. Students are beginning to explore letter sounds to label their drawings.

Let the good times roll with two tables of dice, subitzing and matching. Students will roll a dice and identify the number. They will place a glass bead over the matching number on their subitizing mat. Let the race begin, who can fill their whole page?

Celtie, Owen, Rebecca and Piper are subitzing. 

Second dice table involves rolling the dice and keeping track of how many times that number appears. Students are shading in the number they see on a graph. Which number comes in first, second and third?

• dress for the weather (we try to get outside for fresh air breaks)
• please help teach your child to zip up their own coat and dress themselves in winter gear

• Friday is PM kindergarten with the Remembrance Day assembly at 10:15am (parents are welcome)
