Welcome back to school. How fabulous to have our students back ready for learning.
This week our learning will include:
- the letter Ff
- needs and wants: identifying the difference
- making responsible decisions: how to make good choices for learning and while playing
- drawing pictures to share knowledge and ideas
- subitizing (recognizing random arrangements of 1 to 5 dots )
Watch for RAZ kids coming home tomorrow. RAZ kids is an on-line reading program that will allow you and your child to foster a love of reading while learning through reading activities. Each student will get their very own password and steps to follow to begin.
This week we will be working on the letter Ff. Today students worked on printing the letter and identifying things that begin with the /f/ sound. How fabulous to see the success of our first guided drawing of a fabulous frog!
Students began their new learning tubs today which are all about needs and wants. Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to work at each of the tables.
Dressing up people with clothing for different types of weather was a great way to show how we adapt our clothing needs with seasons:
Building houses to demonstrate our need for shelter was a hit at the lego table:
A great hands on opportunity with play-doh to create healthy food our bodies need to stay strong and grow:
It's great practice for cutting and gluing while students sort needs and wants:
