Today was an excellent day for PM Kindergarten.
Students practiced letter sounds. Ll, Tt, Ii. We sang our jolly phonics songs and our letter rhymes.
We practiced subitizing numbers 1 to 5. We sang a song and practiced showing numbers on our fingers when flashed a random arrangement of dots. Playing dice games at home is an excellent way to practice subitizing.
We had planned to do a community walk but due to a change in our schedule we took a fresh air break instead. We did a small community walk on Thursday when we visited our class tree. At that time we pointed our street signs and signs of fall. When you are walking or driving ask your child what different signs they see and what they mean.
We continued to work on needs and wants and grouped items that a fish might need, and what a person going to the beach might need. Ask your child to identify their needs and wants at home.
MATH PATTERN ASSESSMENT: all students in AM and PM have completed a small assessment on their ability to reproduce a pattern, extend a pattern and create their own pattern. This will be in your child's backpack.
Next week is no school on Friday, October 26 for all students.
Have a wonderful weekend.
