Tomorrow is BEACH DAY!!! Students are invited to wear beach clothes. This may include: hats, sunglasses, short sleeved t-shirts and bright colours. Please remember we play outside for our fresh air breaks and shorts may not be appropriate (unless there are pants to put on top).
Today students continued their work with representing numbers in different ways. Students worked to show the number 5 in different ways using snap cubes and then colouring their ideas and writing numerals. They worked to write a sentence choosing their favourite choice of a pet. Students continued their work with sequencing and ordered the stages of a spring flower growing. Students enjoyed literacy time with an iPad as well.
To continue our sequence work, and to bring in spring, students created a first, next and last flower poster. They drew the growing stages of a tulip and culminated with a guided drawing with a paint wash over top. (PM will complete the guided drawing tomorrow and the wash)

Kindergarten Field Trip - Important Parent Information

Kindergarten Parents and Guardians,
We are currently planning a school off-site activity to Telus Spark. To allow students enough time to participate in a learning program during their visit, this will be a full day field trip. In order to accomodate both the AM and PM classes, we have had to make some adjustments to the kindergarten calendar.
Morning (AM) kindergarten students will be going to Telus Spark on Tuesday, April 16th, 2019. Therefore, AM Kindergarten students will attend school ALL DAY on Tuesday, April 16th, 2019. They will need to arrive at school 8:10am and will be dismissed at 3:10pm. AM Kindergarten students will NOT attend school on Thursday, April 18th, 2019.
Afternoon (PM) kindergarten students will be going to Telus Spark on Thursday, April 18th, 2019. Therefore, PM Kindergarten students will attend school ALL DAY on Thursday, April 18th, 2019. They need to arrive at school 8:10am and will be dismissed at 3:10pm. PM Kindergarten students will NOT attend school on Tuesday, April 16, 2019.
Field trip forms will be sent home with all students after Spring Break.
We hope this advanced notice will allow families the time to make alternate arrangements for their children on the days they will not be attending school.
